HPAIR 2014 Info Session - makes people crazy in Pakistan

That is first time for me atleast when I got to know about HPAIR a month back. To be honest, it drove me crazy when I saw my dream turning into reality, by going to Harvard and taking part in one of the prestigious conferences of world. Moreover, my excitement immediately got doubled when I applied for Conference Ambassador and received the affirmative response from the organisers.

Since that day I’ve been spotting different universities and institutes here in Karachi to organize info sessions about HPAIR. The recent info session I organized here at Pak British Institute, which is one of the famous English learning centers in Karachi, Pakistan. There were couple of things which were discussed during the session. First of all the enthusiasm of the students to participate in HPAIR 2014 was great. They came up with different issues relevant to the panels at HPAIR, in which they were interested, and addressed in the session. We talked about some general and specific issues faced by Asia, especially Pakistan.

The top of the discussion was the security threat, which we have been facing particularly post 9/11. And rest of the issues were entrepreneurial in their nature. We also talked about some possible solutions or steps which could have been taken to solve the current crisis in different fields. About HPAIR 2014, I provided them with the information like why to attend this conference, how to apply, how to get scholarship if you are unable to afford the registration fee, and most importantly through Webinar of one of the past delegates of HPAIR 2013, we shared them first-hand experience of this life time opportunity.

Few of them have started applying for the conference and I am pretty hopeful that many others will also be applying, since today we are going to arrange two info sessions at Federal Urdu University, Karachi Pakistan. Here are some pictures of the info session, organized at PAK British ELC. #HPAIR2014 Rocks!

Chicken patties with Hammad

This blog is seriously not about chicken patties, coffee and making your mouth water by talking about all these. But it certainly has some connection with these.
Hammad Siddiqui - Social Media Expert

Sitting at waiting room, after bearing the scorching sunshine throughout to the place; finally reached my destination to meet a career expert.

While having patties from Crispo bakers (which were served), a random thought occurred to me, that how many students got this chance to come to any career expert in person, and discuss something about it like me.When this thought was over, I realized that the chicken patties had also been over. Next to that empty plate, there was a tissue box and a cup of coffee for me. I went for a cup of coffee.

Wearing stripes shirt, dress pants, slim spectacles, holding Sony Xperia; inshort in a formal official attire. There was HammadSiddiqui – a well known career expert and Social Media Guru; a down to earth man, who has always been available to mentor the youngsters about their career.

In this short meeting with Hammad sahb over chicken patties, I learnt  how to connect your twitter accounts from one twitter profile, to use them through smartphone, to engage the audience through Ustream and most importantly how to design an effective Social media action plan for any organisation.

Go Social Media Go!

The Chance

It's the game of a "Chance";
The chance what you keep finding throughout your life,
The chance which doesn't let you sleep,
The chance which leads you to great anxiety,
The chance which takes you to falsification,
The chance what makes you compelled to fulfill others' wishes,
The chance which makes me show you this
And the chance to live this life once again.

Global Entrepreneurship Week – A Road Map Of Entrepreneurs

“Challenges, challenges, challenges
 Difficulties, difficulties, difficulties …
Avoid repeating such words; otherwise they will become the part of your life”
said by Hammad Siddiqui-a blogger, social media strategist and Deputy Country Director at Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), during Global Entrepreneurship Week celebration.
In all over world, this week is being celebrated as Global Entrepreneurship week (GEW); the reason to celebrate it, is to promote entrepreneurial activities in the region.
Every year, this week of November brings enterprises, entrepreneurs and future entrepreneurs on one platform, where they share different ideas with each other.
In Karachi, GEW was organized by CIPE and celebrated at Marriott, where the lead speakers of the session were Hammad Siddiqui and Talha Ansari (Director at Xenith PR & event). Later, the session joined by Kamal Faridi (CEO at 22 four), Fahmina Arshad (Instructor at Beaconhouse School System), faculty members of IBA and others.
Throughout the session, different thoughts were shared by mainly the students from IBA & Indus Valley school of Art. Not only this, but their queries were taken on the floor and addressed by the lead trainers.
Some of the points which were shared by Hammad Siddiqui related to the theme of the event are:
ü  There are two kinds of persons in the world, map creator and map follower.
ü  Entrepreneur creates his road map himself.
ü  There is 90% risk in own business and 10% in job.
ü  Pakistan has the lowest entrepreneurial activity in South Asia.
ü  There are almost 110 multinational companies in Pakistan but no of entrepreneurial opportunities.

The event was followed on Twitter as well, by the hash tag #GEW and had over 9 million outreach on the spot.
